Tasks to be fulfilled:
MCA will be hosting a morning work party with *Clean Up Cincy removing honeysuckle and other invasive plants as well as trash along the Mill Creek. Our landscaping, maintenance, and walking along the Mill Creek Greenway Trail will take place outdoors, along unpaved streambanks, uneven hillsides, and paved surfaces. Work typically involves removing invasive vegetation using loppers & saws, chemicals, and other landscaping tools. Highly recommended protective clothes and equipment include: hat and sunscreen, long pants, long sleeves, layers of warm clothes, closed-toe shoes that may get muddy, and a filled refillable water bottle.
*Clean Up Cincy is preparing for our main event this semester. As a quick refresher, Clean Up Cincy started in 2015 at UC and has since become Cincinnati’s largest student-led beautification program, growing from 350 volunteers per semester to over 1,000. Each spring and fall semester, we send volunteers to various work sites around Cincinnati to pick up trash and serve in other sustainability efforts.
