Mill Creek Alliance works alongside communities in the Mill Creek watershed to improve ecosystem health through stream restoration, environmental education, recreation, and water quality monitoring. We envision the watershed as a healthy ecosystem where people and communities can thrive, and our mission is to champion the resurgence of the Mill Creek Watershed as a natural and community asset.
Mill Creek Alliance's main program offerings in Restoration, Education, Recreation, and Water Quality allow us to advocate for the creek and its communities, improve natural function in the stream, connect people to Mill Creek, and build capacity for the future. In 2025 we celebrated 30 years of shifting the current through restoration, connectivity, education, and stewardship.
Volunteer opportunities include greenspace maintenance, cleanups by land and stream, and citizen science. Additional volunteer opportunities exist for students through service learning programming coordinated through UC faculty.
Restoration program volunteers assist with scheduled workparties on the first Saturday of the month (for most months).
Recreation program volunteers assist with guiding canoe trips and clean ups by canoe, as well as aiding planting efforts along the stream banks, removing debris in the waterway.
Water quality volunteers collect water samples and conduct laboratory analysis on the second Saturday of every month March through November.
