We will be removing honeysuckle, an invasive plant, from one of our key preserves, the BUCKEYE Nature Preserve in Sayler Park, Ohio. This is another of our nature preserves, not the place we typically work at (Kirby). And a different time (1 pm to 4 pm). And during the week.
Meet at Buckeye Preserve at 1 pm for about 2 hours of physical work in the woods! Cutting and piling up the honeysuckle, clearing the woods so that native plants can return. We will also hike and inspect the property.
Finding the parking lot at our Buckeye Preserve is a bit tricky. The driveway to the parking lot is next to 6452 Hillside Ave in Sayler Park. The driveway is a steep concrete slab that leads to our parking lot. This driveway is on Hillside Avenue between Rockaway and Ivanhoe.
This is a beautiful place and it gets so much better as we remove these invasive plants, and permit native vegetation to return in all its glory!
We have had a number of these projects, successfully, with UC students over the past several years. This is perfect weather for such work. Cool enough for long sleeves and long pants. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes you can get dirty.
Spend time outdoors!
