The Family & Community Outreach Intern will play a key role in strengthening GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati’s connections with families, volunteers, and the broader community. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about inclusion, advocacy, and nonprofit work. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in community engagement, event planning, and nonprofit program delivery while directly supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating community engagement events and outreach programs.

  • Conduct outreach efforts to build relationships with families, local organizations, and community partners.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of Playhouse Ambassadors (adult self-advocates representing GiGi’s in the community).

  • Serve as a voice and representative of the Playhouse at outreach events and community engagements.

  • Perform light office/clerical work as needed.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be able to commit to the full duration of the internship. (October 2025-July 2026)

  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, nonprofits, or community engagement (preferred but not required).

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

  • Availability for flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
