Date & Duration: Saturday, July 20, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Meeting Location: Indian Creek MetroPark, 6500 Springfield Road, Oxford OH 45056 (There will be signage directing Volunteers to the job site)
Tasks: Trails throughout Indian Creek MetroPark have started becoming pretty overgrown during this warm wet weather and we need your help to cut it back. We'll cut back and prune the Mound Trail to clear the trail of hazards and discourage trail braiding. we'll be working with loppers, handsaws, and pruners. Feel free to bring your own tools or you can borrow ours.
What to Wear & Bring:
- 'work' clothes (long sleeve shirts and long pants are preferred)
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing and layers (Warm jacket, rain jacket, hat, extra layer, etc.)
- Sunglasses (Optional; For sun protection during outside activities.)
- Work gloves (Optional; Available through MetroParks.)
- Water bottle (we will have a refill station avalible)
- Snacks
- MetroParks will provide all other tools necessary to complete the tasks for the day.
Weather: We will work through light rain but cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather. please check the forecast to ensure you all bring the necessary items and wear the proper clothing.
Accommodations: The MetroParks may provide accommodation to volunteer project participants depending on the nature of the tasks. Any request must be sent directly to the Manager of Volunteer Resources at least two days before the project begins
