On Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Guiding Light Mentoring will host their annual free Northside Back-to-School Event at McKie Recreation Center in the Northside Community. The event provides families with backpacks with school supplies, personal hygiene items, haircuts, literacy kits and more for the upcoming school year.
At this time, we are seeking volunteers to help in the following roles below. To sign up as a volunteer with us, please click on the link here to register.
- Serving ice cream: 2ppl and they should get there by 12pm
- Passing out food: 4ppl and they should get there by12pm
- Backpack distribution: 3ppl and they should get there by 12pm
- Directing parking: 4ppl and they should get there by12pm
- Event set up: 4-5ppl and they should get there by10am
- Event break down: 4-5ppl and they should get there by 230pm if they aren't already there helping out with other tasks.
