Arbor Day Planting
John P. Parker School
Friday, April 26, 2024
Time: 9am - 12pm
The official Arbor Day Planting and Ceremony will include a brief program from 9am to 10am.. The program will kick off with some words from our Urban Forestry team, the reading of the official Arbor Day Proclamation, and ceremonial single tree planting on school grounds. Volunteers will plant 30 trees on campus and surrounding street tree lawn. John P. Parker, is located in Madisonville, which has been identified as an area that has deficient tree cover. Your support on this project will bring a positive impact in the continued efforts to increase the tree canopy. Read more about it HERE.
We are thrilled to welcome community support for this special Arbor Day Event!
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather (lightweight clothing), wear long pants. Close-toed shoes are required. Recommended: Work gloves (if you own them), sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle. There will be work gloves available to borrow and a water cooler will be provided on site for volunteers.
We ask everyone to bring refillable bottles. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics.
