The Hamilton Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is about to celebrate their 100th anniversary! They are working hard at improving the hiking trails on the property, and are seeking some help. Are you willing to help cut down invasive honeysuckle and clear overhanging limbs from the trails? The Hamilton Chapter holds free and open to the public events year round for children and adults and want to keep the trails clear and safe for all visitors.
Who are the Izaak Walton? They are a group with great diversity of backgrounds, ages, and occupations, all united in a common interest to support all areas of conservation. The Izaak Walton League of America's mission is promote, educate and support all areas of conservation of our natural resources. This local chapter's primary interests are to promote local clean water, and to raise our children in all aspects of conservation and it's resources. This chapter, the first in Ohio has been instrumental over the years in the creation of public lands, raised awareness of issues such as fish kills on the Great Miami River, and back in 1934, they pushed for a fish ladder around a dam in Hamilton.
