Join the MetroParks as we take advantage of the low water levels in the wetlands at Gilmore MetroPark to collect as much litter throughout the park as possible! Gilmore is a critical destination for a wide variety of bird species and litter reduction helps make it a safe space for native animals to thrive.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age with parental permission.
Date & Duration: Feburary 17th, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Meeting Location: Gilmore MetroPark, 7950 Gilmore Road, Hamilton OH 45015 (There will be signage directing Volunteers to the job site)
What to Wear & Bring:
- Long pants
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes, (waterproof 'muck' boots are best)
- Weather-appropriate clothing and layers (Warm jacket, rain jacket, hat, extra layer, etc.)
- Sunglasses (Optional; For sun protection during outside activities.)
- Work gloves (Optional; Available through MetroParks.)
- Water bottle (we will have a refill station avalible)
- Snacks
- MetroParks will provide all other tools necessary to complete the tasks for the day.
Weather: We will work through light rain but cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather. Please check the forecast to ensure you all bring the necessary items and wear the proper clothing.
Accommodations: The MetroParks may provide accommodation to volunteer project participants depending on the nature of the tasks. Any request must be sent directly to the Manager of Volunteer Resources at least two days before the project begins
