At 6:30 a.m., hundreds of hungry and homeless community members of Over-the-Rhine come to SFSM for breakfast and a safe haven. No-shows or late unregistrations do hurt our ability to give proper service. If you sign, please keep the commitment.
From greeting guests to serving food, cleaning tables to serving beverages, it is our volunteers who enable us to be here for our guests every day. One of the most important things we do is to treat our guests with dignity and respect; as a volunteer, this is also part of your job.
With the warmer weather, we want to remind all of our Dress Code Requirements. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, and full-sleeve t-shirts/dresses are required: no open-toed shoes, flip-flops, or water shoes, no tank tops/dresses, cut-off shirts, crop-tops, or anything where the armpit is showing. If you choose to wear shorts or a skirt, they must come to the knee. SFSM is a faith-based organization that serves a vulnerable population.
A warm smile or some friendly conversation can really help brighten our guests’ days – and as a volunteer you might be surprised at how much this experience will brighten yours as well!
You’ll need to be available from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m.
