Maple Sugarin’ Time at Caldwell Nature Preserve is a program for adults and families to learn about the art of making maple syrup.
Volunteers will support the program as greeters, welcoming participants and handing out maple swag bags, shaving ice and heating maple taffy to make sugar on snow for participants, assist with parking
Here are the basic requirements
- Ability to stand on your feet for about 5 hours
- Ability to use take ice cubes and shave them in the Hawaiian ice machine
- Squirt very warm maple taffy on to the scooped ice
- Pass Cones out to participants
- Ability to use a portable radio (walkie talkie)
- Ability to work with other parking attendants including staff
Dress for the weather! Wear warm coats, hats, mittens, and boots if there is snow on the ground.
