UC's Undergraduate Scholarly Showcase is an annual event where students present original research and scholarly work in the form of poster, podium, and virtual presentations.
We seek senior-level undergraduate students from any major to serve as a peer reviewer for the Capstone Competition event, a virtual event held in Zoom on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
The event occurs in two 1-hour sessions: 11 am - noon and 1pm-2 pm. Each session will have a panel of 6 professional judges who determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. In addition, we seek 10 peer reviewers who will submit evaluation forms for each contestant (usually 6-7 contestants). Peer reviewers participate virtually and submit their scores and comments through an electronic form.
Although you attend just two 1-hour events, 4 hours of volunteer service is provided because it will take additional time after each event to submit your reviews.
Subject matter expertise is not needed. Contestants are coached to present for multidisciplinary audiences (and they are evaluated by how well they do this).
