Local Poetry Class

Expired

Description

Marjorie Book Continuing Education seeks volunteers to participate in and learn alongside adults and teens with disabilities.  Volunteers can be paired with an individual with a disability to help facilitate their participation in the class.

We will begin reading a new poet, Raymond Garfield Dandridge (1882-1930), that we have not encountered before.  Dandridge lived in the Cincinnati area of Price Hill.   This class is open to people of all reading levels (from no reading interest/ability at all to super prolific readers).  We will partner up during the class and have small group discussions about what we see happening in the poems.  We may also draw pictures based on the images in the poems as well.

To help you, and our participants to get the most of the experience, volunteers are asked to read our volunteer handout prior to attending an event.
