The University Of Cincinnati Police Department is looking for volunteers to help officers with passing out Holiday Safety Checklists to students living off-campus. On Thursday, November 17, volunteers will meet at the Police Department at 3:00 pm to receive instructions and begin walking door to door with officers. We will conclude the volunteer service at 6 pm with pizza and drinks provided by the Police Department. This can be counted towards your community service or volunteer hours.
The Police Department will arrange transportation via vans and cruisers to transport volunteers to off-campus streets. Student volunteers will go door to door to leave behind the Holiday Safety checklist for residents. This volunteer service does not require talking to residents or knocking on doors, as we will be putting the educational checklist inside doorways to reach as many residents as possible.
By volunteering, you will help us reach our awareness goal to prevent the usual spike in burglaries we see around this time when most students go home for the holidays.
