Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 - Friday, September 23rd, 2022 will be the dates for the next UC ALL CAMPUS BLOOD DRIVE!  The blood drive runs from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, each day and will consist of two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the Great Hall of Tangeman University Center (TUC) and two days (Thursday and Friday) on blood donor buses parked on TUC Plaza.  

Due to current UC College of Medicine requirements, everyone will need to be wearing a mask while participating with the blood drive.  Assisting at the blood drive is considered as an off-campus activity, even though it is on campus in/at TUC.

On Tuesday (9/20) and Wednesday (9/21), we will be in the Great Hall of TUC and will need some assistance from volunteers to work with Hoxworth staff in order to; be welcoming, helping to direct donors through the donation process, signing up donors for blood drive appointments, assisting donors with basic questions and generally making sure the blood drive runs well.  

On Thursday (9/22) and Friday (9/23), we will have Blood Donor Buses on the TUC Plaza directly outside of TUC and will need some assistance from volunteers to work with Hoxworth staff in order to; be welcoming, helping to direct donors through the donation process, walking donors to the available buses for donations, signing up donors for blood drive appointments, assisting donors with basic questions and generally making sure the blood drive runs well.

We have space for up to four (4) volunteers to participate for a four (4) hour time frame on two different shifts (early, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM and late, 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM) each day, Tuesday-Friday.  We know this is a long commitment for a day, but also are limiting the amount of volunteer participants.  We will contact waitlist volunteers if an opening becomes available.

Hoxworth Blood Center Staff will be on-site to help any of the volunteers that are able to give their time to assist.  Please email Jamie Glahn (james.glahn@uc.edu) regarding volunteering and Bobby Boettcher (boettcra@ucmail.uc.edu) regarding questions about the blood drive.

We rely heavily on UC volunteers participating in the blood drive to help make sure other Bearcats have a great experience at the blood drive events.  Your assistance is needed and very appreciated.  If you sign-up and have to cancel due to illness (within 48 hours of the event) please email Jamie (James.glahn@uc.edu) and Bobby (boettcra@ucmail.uc.edu), so we are aware and can contact volunteers on the wait list.

Inclement Weather Plan: We may be outside, but are working mostly from a location inside of TUC. We will still need to check with the buses to see who can accept donors and when, so you may be in outdoor conditions. If there is a thunderstorm or other hazardous conditions we may be forced to close down the blood drive for a period of time.
