For Latinx Heritage Month, UC Latinx en Accion (LEA) and the UC Office of Programs and Services (EPS) have created a program to support and preserve our latinidad. We have titled it "Creando Comunidad (Creating Community)" which emphasizes creating, supporting, and bringing to the spotlight the importance of re-establishing our voices within the UC and Cincinnati community. Through volunteering at our LEA/Cincinnati volunteering events you will be engaging by supporting your local latinx Comunidad. Muchas Gracias! <3
In this event, we will be fundraising for the Pulsera Project! They will send us handmade bracelets from artists from Guatemala and Nicaragua that we will sell on-campus and give 100% of profits back to the artist!

Pulsera Project is a nonprofit organization that educates, empowers, and connects Central American artists with students in more than 3,000 U.S. schools through the sale of colorful handwoven bracelets or "pulseras" in Spanish. We brighten U.S. schools with art and compelling cultural education while employing Nicaraguan & Guatemalan artisans and investing proceeds to create lasting change in Central American communities.
