Whiz Kids is a literacy-based, one-to-one tutoring program for financially under-resourced elementary school youth K-4th grades who are currently reading below grade level.
Our main priority is to enhance students’ reading comprehension, fluency, and accuracy to help them achieve appropriate grade-level reading, especially by the time they are in 3rd grade. Students will also partake in a variety of activities to develop multiple skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, imagination, & creativity.
Whiz Kids is a City Gospel Mission program that provides a one-on-one tutoring session for at risk Hispanic youth students. The program is at our Roberts Paideia site in Price Hill. We are looking for 18 tutors for our 18, Kindergarten – 4th grade students. Our sessions are once a week on Wednesdays from 3:25pm - 4:45pm. This opportunity provides 1.5 service hours each week. Our tutors do not need prior tutoring experience.
