The University Of Cincinnati Police Department is looking for volunteers to help officers distribute burglary awareness information to students living off-campus. We plan to pass out information door to door on Thursday, August 5, and possibly Friday, August 6, 2021. We are aiming for a 4:00 PM start time and ending around 8:00 PM. We will conclude our evening with pizza provided by the Police Department. The rain date would be August 12 or 13.
Ideally, we would like to have two student volunteers to walk with each officer. We would meet at the Police Department (Edwards Three Lobby) and use NightRide vans to get to the Southside off-campus houses. We will have burglary flyers to distribute and talking points for students. Most talking will be done by the officers but we believe peer conversations would be beneficial as well. We want this to be a very easy and casual experience but informative to try to prevent as many burglaries as we can for students who might be new to living off-campus, as well as a great opportunity to meet UCPD officers and other UC students.
