Description

Our mission is to foster lifelong connections to the wonders of the natural world. We immerse children in nature through delivery of outdoor, hands-on learning experiences in our vegetable/floral garden and on our nature trail. Children learn through observation, build appreciation of nature and the joy of growing and tasting fresh food while exploring math, science, social studies and health topics. Since we have a producing schoolyard vegetable garden, we also engage students and volunteers in harvesting produce for donation to the local Loveland LIFE food pantry. In the 2020 growing season, we donated over 1250 lbs of fresh food. Volunteers help us maintain our gardens and nature trail from March through October - tasks include hauling and distributing compost or wood chips, tilling dirt or raking winter debris away from pathways and garden beds, clearing and trimming branches on trail, cleaning & organizing storage areas, pulling invasive vines, repairing beds, benches or fencing, planting or harvesting across the season, etc.

Minimum number of students per shift: 5
