Are you interested in learning about and finding volunteer opportunities relating to social justice? Join the Center for Community engagement for bi-weekly social justice film screenings and conversations between student and community leaders relating to various social justice topics.
This service opportunity will allow students to listen to discussions and watch films on the prison system, housing inequities, education, sustainability, homelessness, and immigration. After each film screening, participants will be provided with service opportunities relating to each topic. On weeks that we are not screening films, students will be provided with additional films to watch on their own time and will also be provided with related service opportunities.
Each discussion will last around 30 minutes and the duration for each film screening varies depending on the film. The screenings will typically last between an hour and a half and two hours.
The sessions will take place each Wednesday at 3 p.m. via Zoom. The link for each session can be found on our CampusLink page. Attendees that watch the films and participate in a related service opportunity will be awarded two community service hours.
