On Wednesday, February 10th, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM the 11th Annual - Queen City/Cyclone Blood Drive will take place at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Exhibit Hall A.  We are expecting close to 400 donors throughout the day who will be receiving an array of items from Hoxworth and other organizations that will be joining us.      

With social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines, while volunteering at the blood drive it will be mandatory for everyone to wear their masks during their shift time.  We have also decreased the number of shifts and increased the timing of shifts due to limiting any potential exposure. 

We will have two (2) six (6) hour shifts available for volunteering at this blood drive.   The first shift will be from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM and second shift is from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  As with most volunteer shifts, additional time is built in to allow for prep, shift turnover, and end of drive donations.  Volunteers coming on the early shift will be asked to help with set-up and volunteers at the end will help with end of day cleanup.  If you cannot commit to this entire shift time, but would like to help please let us know and we will see if we can get you scheduled.

You will receive FREE validated parking for the 605 Plum Street garage.  Complimentary Parking is at the 6th & Plum Garage – 605 Plum Street.  This garage is on Plum, but you have to enter through Central Avenue.  If traveling NORTH on Elm Street, turn Left onto W. 6th Street, turn Right onto Central Avenue, turn Right into the garage. If traveling SOUTH on Plum Street, turn Right onto W 6th Street, turn Right onto Central Avenue, turn Right into the garage.

Validation stickers can be retrieved at QCBD check-in and this is the only place that you can park with no charge.

We will also be providing everyone with a red Hoxworth pull-over that was part of a recent donor promotion.  It is felt that this pullover will be a nice gift for each of you and will provide visibility to donors who are looking for assistance.  We will also have name badges for everyone.  Please send an email to Jamie Glahn (james.glahn@uc.edu) and provide him with a size you would like/need for this pullover, so we can get these together.
