McEvoy Park, located in College Hill, is a 27 acre park with wooded acreage, meadows, athletic fields, and a shelter. This park has become a popular spot for ATV use and as a result, the woodland areas have become trahsed and some portions of the park destoyed.
This is the first project in what will be a series of restorative efforts to repair tails, improve signage and hopefully mitgate this type of activity in the park.
Tasks for the proejct will include honeysuckle removal and preparing an area for fence installation or replacement.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather (lightweight clothing), wear long pants. Close-toed shoes are required. Recommended: Work gloves (if you own them), sunscreen, face covering and a refillable water bottle. There will be work gloves available to borrow and a water cooler will be provided on site for volunteers to refill bottles. Cincinnati Parks discourages single use plastics.
