Each year, in early spring people visit Ault Park to see the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. Their breathtaking beauty means so much for parks enthusiasts, and to our dedicated community who help nurture this special tradition for our city. Cincinnati Parks has received a gift of thirty Cherry Trees from a generous fundraising effort initiated by Ault Park Advisory Council (APAC).
The goal is to replenish the established Cherry Tree groves to sustain the groves that have been supported over decades by the Japan America Society, APAC, and many other community volunteers and donors.
Volunteers will use shovels, pick axes, and other hand tools to dig holes and plant, fill and and mulch the trees that will be staged and ready! Parks staff and our experienced volunteers will provide orientation and guidance through the process.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather, wear long pants and layers (long sleeves), close-toed shoes are required. Gloves recommended, there will be a limited supply on site. Suggested: refillable water bottle - there will be water cooler on site for volunteers to fill a bottle. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics.
