Tutoring at Boys & Girls Club

Expired

Description

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati is an after-school program for children of all grade levels that provides an environment to foster success and personal growth. This organization is able to provide students with both academic support and the emotional support that they may not receive at home. SNMA has arranged to send undergraduate and graduate/professional students to the Boys & Girls Club on a weekly  to tutor the students in a variety of subjects, ranging from math to science to reading and writing. We will be sending volunteers every Wednesday for tutoring sessions that last from 4:00-5:00. Rides will be provided by one of the SNMA officers each week; we will meet at Kresge Circle to carpool (just outside of Kresge Auditorium in the Medical Sciences Building, across the street from Cincinnati Children's). Please plan on getting to Kresge Circle at 3:40 so that we can arrive for tutoring on time. If you would prefer to drive yourself, that is fine, just please inform us ahead of time that you will be doing so (the address is 3504 Washington Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229). Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Thanks for volunteering!

Please complete the volunteer application attached in the "Waiver" section of this need. Email the completed application to Emily Bostian, the volunteer coordinator (her email is provided at the bottom of each page of the application). The name of our club is the "U.S. Bank Club". This is the preferable method of submitting the application. Alternatively, you may bring it with you when you come for the first time, but I cannot guarantee that you will be able to actually tutor on your first day if you choose that option.
