Monarch Butterfly Larvae Monitor

Expired

Description

Cincinnati Parks and the Krohn Conservatory are looking for several motivated volunteers to assist us with a Monarch Larvae Monitoring Project.  During this monitoring project, we will be collecting samples and data from the Milkweed plants at the Krohn Conservatory to see the different stages of Monarch Butterfly activity.  This data will then be sent to researchers at the University of Minnesota.

The overall goal of the project is to better understand how and why monarch populations vary in time and space.

Your contributions will aid in conserving monarchs and their threatened migratory phenomenon, and advance our understanding of butterfly ecology in general.
