Holiday Operations Food Box Distribution
Holiday Food Box Distribution takes place at the Customer Connection Center three days prior to Thanksgiving and three days before Christmas Eve.
Up to 125 volunteers are needed per shift to complete various tasks which enables the Freestore Foodbank to distribute holiday meals to over 15,000 households.
Scope of Work: Tasks include: assisting customers complete a USDA form, bagging meats or produce, crowd control, front line supply or carts/customer assistance.
All volunteers for Holiday Operations should be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds without medical restriction.
Without volunteers, we literally would not be able to make Holiday Operations happen! Volunteers are assigned at the end of orientation, on a free-will basis and we cannot guarantee that groups will be able to stay together.
Holiday Operations will run regardless of weather conditions.
Arrival Time: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled shift.

Corporate/Civic/FaithBased/School Groups: To begin the registration process for an organized group, you will need to complete the Group Request Form. After you've completed the form, our Volunteer Engagement Specialist will contact you to confirm the date and give you a special registration link that you can give out to your team to sign up. Completing this quick survey DOES NOT register your group for a day of volunteering, but we will respond to you within two business days to get the registration process started.
