What? The UC Scholar Prep Program would like to recruit dedicated and interested scholarly UC students who would like to commit to a multi-year volunteer-mentor opportunity. For 2017-18, we are looking for 24 UC students who can engage in supportive relationships with 9th grade students that revolve around academic mentoring, esteem building, and achievement motivation. Mentors will be matched with students from one of three CPS secondary schools: Aiken, Hughes, or Taft. Our ninth grade students completed an application process and have committed to this four-year college preparatory scholar program.
When? There are monthly high school classroom meetings and quarterly social events on campus. (estimated 20+hrs)
