Microsoft's DigiGirlz Day is an annual computer science outreach event for high school girls co-hosted by Microsoft and UC's ACM-W chapter. The event will take place on UC campus and volunteering with us counts for off-campus service hours! 50 girls from local high schools will be attending DigiGirlz Day to learn more about their opportunities in technology through networking sessions with Microsoft professionals, fun coding activities, and inspirational speakers. We need your help to make this day special!
Volunteers will be needed to help throughout the day in different roles:
7 am to 8:30 am - Volunteering begins at 7 am at Stratford Heights Banquet Hall. Volunteers will help set up the venue and check the high school girls in for the event. Be sure to bring a smile if you volunteer since you'll be starting off the girls' fantastic, fun-filled day!
11:15 am to 12:15 am - We need help putting up decorations and setting up the lab equipment in Old Chem 825. To learn how to set up the equipment, you must attend an info-session for half an hour on Wednesday, October 18th, at your convenience, any time from 4 pm to 8 pm. Details will be sent via email to those who sign up to volunteer. Attending this session will count for an extra hour of service.
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm - We need your help to take down decorations and equipment from Old Chem 825 after the girls have finished their coding event.
2:45 pm - 3:45 pm - Volunteers working during this last shift will help take down decorations from Stratford Banquet Hall.
Please sign up for shifts only if you can volunteer for the entire shift. Also, be sure to comment your t-shirt size while signing up.
Thanks for your help!
