This class will look at some of the myths that persist about leadership. What is it that attracts us about Steve Jobs, Barak Obama, and such characters as Donald Trump? What are these "leaders" telling us about ourselves, our organizations, and our society? Do we still consider Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, and the Dalai Lama "leaders?" What about the Beatles, Pete Seeger, and Jacob Lawrence? Were they "leaders?" This class will examine the usefulness of leadership theories that are utilized by individuals and groups today.
Marjorie Book seeks volunteers to facilitate conversation and learn along with individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities as we learn together about leadership. Volunteers are welcome for all classes, or just one session.
