Make a Meaningful Difference at the End of Life
Our hospice team is looking for compassionate, dependable volunteers to provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their families. As a Companionship Volunteer, you can make a meaningful difference simply by being present, listening, and offering your time.
What You’ll Do
- Visit with hospice patients in their homes, facilities, or other care settings
- Provide friendly conversation, companionship, and emotional support
- Read, play music, watch television, play games, or participate in other activities based on the patient’s interests
- Help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
- Provide a supportive presence for patients and families
- Communicate observations or concerns to the hospice volunteer coordinator
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
What We’re Looking For
-Compassionate and empathetic individuals who enjoy connecting with others
- Reliable and respectful volunteers who can make a consistent commitment
- Comfortable spending time with individuals facing serious illness and end-of-life
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
- No medical experience is required
