Volunteer at New City Thrift!

New City Thrift is a nonprofit thrift store operated by Christ’s Loving Hands, a Harrison-based nonprofit serving local individuals and families in need (food pantries, rent assistance, utility assistance, clothing vouchers, etc). Every purchase at our store helps support programs and services that provide practical help to our neighbors.

Our store is powered by volunteers and we need your help! Sign up for one shift or a recurring shift and join us regularly! You are always able to purchase items at the end of your shift if you see something you like.

What do thrift store volunteers do?

Depending on the day and the store's needs, you may help:

• Sort and process incoming donations
• Hang, tag, and organize clothing
• Stock merchandise throughout the store
• Organize books, toys, shoes, home goods, and décor
• Create and refresh merchandise displays
• Keep racks and shelves neat and shoppable
• Help organize our donation and processing areas
• Assist with other behind-the-scenes thrift store projects
• Bring items from storage unit to store/organize storage units

Donations come in every day, so there is always something to do! If you like thrifting, organizing, merchandising, or discovering unexpected treasures, this is a great way to earn service hours while making a difference.
