Help build community, and lend the KSO a hand during it's free “Swinging the Classics” concert. Volunteers pass out programs, work donation boxes and or the concession stand. (Specific task/duties are assigned at check-in.)
“Swingin’ the Classics” re-imagines classical music through jazz arrangements that are clever, virtuosic, and enormous fun. From Bach and Mozart to Brahms, Holst, Verdi, and Gershwin, you’ll hear familiar masterpieces transformed through the KSO's All-Star Big Band. Holst’s powerful “Mars” and “Uranus,” Verdi’s famous “Anvil Chorus,” Bizet’s spirited “Farandole,” and Gershwin’s timeless “Rhapsody in Blue” all take on fresh new personalities in these clever jazz arrangements. Get ready to Swing it!
