The Thrifty Move-In is a collaboration between the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH) and community organizations (Ikea and DiBella’s), university units (UC Center for Student Engagement/Bearcats Welcome, UC International, Resident Education and Development, CECH IMPACT, Office of Sustainability, Keep Cincy Beautiful), and colleges (Graduate College, Lindner College of Business, College of Engineering and Applied Science--Professional Development and Community Impact Office) with a goal is to reduce unmet needs, alleviate undue student stress and promote sustainability by providing students with basic household items and support. NOTE: Items are new and gently used. FREE lunch is included while supplies last.
Volunteers will support with set-up of the event, check-in for thrifting and trips to Ikea, ensuring smooth flow of students through the event and onto buses and clean-up.
