Our mission is to bring teenagers and adults with and without disabilities together for projects of mutual interest. We have proudly offered continuing education classes, service projects and theatrical plays to the community for the last 30 years.
Last session, we began reading selections from Ohio writer, James Thurber. During this class, we will examine the creative writing of another Ohio author, Erma Bombeck. This class is open to people of all reading levels (from no reading interest/ability at all to super prolific readers). We will partner up during the class and have small group discussions about what we see happening in the poems. We may also draw pictures based on the images in the poems as well.
Volunteers will work with participants with disabilities to facilitate getting words to paper and brainstorming ideas as well as participating in the class.
To help you, and our participants to get the most of the experience, volunteers are asked to read our volunteer handout prior to attending an event.
