Description

What volunteers should know:

  • Check-in: Look for the Brave Like Me tent and trailer at the Fan Zone entrance. That’s where you’ll pick up your shirt (if needed), name badge, and a quick orientation.
  • Parking: The Reds recommend nearby garages and surface lots around the ballpark. We’ll share specific parking details and tips in your reminder email the week of the event.
  • Crowds: Bark in the Park draws lots of fans and their dogs, so expect a lively, energetic environment. Leave extra time to park and walk to Gate I.
  • Ballpark access: Volunteers will be outside the main ballpark gates, so you won’t need a game ticket to serve.
  • Brave Like Me is not attending the game, but you are welcome to attend if you want
  • Bringing Your Own Dog?: You are welcome to bring your pup.  Please see the Reds' requirements: https://www.mlb.com/reds/tickets/events/bark-in-the-park
ABOUT

About the event

Bark in the Park is one of the biggest dog-friendly events in Cincinnati. Thousands of fans and their pups will be at Great American Ball Park, and for many of them it will be their very first time hearing about Brave Like Me.

As a volunteer, you’ll help us introduce the Brave Pets Mobile Family Pet Reunion Center to the community. Guests will get to walk through, see how it works, and leave with handouts that explain our mission.

Why It Matters

For families with kids in the hospital, pets are comfort, love, and healing. Showing the community this center at Bark in the Park helps people understand why our work matters and gets them excited about supporting it.

The Impact of Your Role

  • You’ll be a friendly face welcoming people inside.
  • You’ll spark curiosity and make the walk-through feel special.
  • You’ll share materials that help spread the word about Brave Like Me.

Every smile, every conversation, and every handout you give makes a difference. Together we’ll help more people discover Brave Like Me and grow the movement.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our Bark in the Park open house. You’ll help guests and their pups feel welcome, learn about Brave Like Me, and walk away inspired.

Roles include:

  • Greeters: Be the first friendly face visitors see and invite them to step inside the Pet Center.
  • Guides: Walk people through the space and give a quick, simple overview of what Brave Like Me is all about.
  • Handout Helpers: Share brochures, stickers, and other materials so guests leave with something to remember us by.

That’s it. No heavy lifting, no complicated instructions. Just warmth, smiles, and helping us tell our story.

Brave Like Me is not attending the game but you are more than welcome to attend on your own.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

  • Clothing: Comfortable clothes you can stand and walk in. Shorts or jeans are fine.
  • Shoes: Closed-toe shoes or sneakers.
  • T-shirt: If you already have a Brave Like Me Brave Builder t-shirt, please wear it. If not, we’ll provide you with a volunteer shirt when you arrive.
  • Other essentials: A refillable water bottle and anything you personally need to stay comfortable.
