The Community Action Team is looking for volunteers to help facilitate the 10th annual UC-Hughes Biology Day! You do not need to have any knowledge of the biological sciences to help.
UC-Hughes Biology day brings 9th graders from Hughes STEM High School to UC for a day of hands-on learning in the biology labs here at UC. Students meet in the morning for an overview, then rotate through designated biology labs for hands on experiences that inspire. All of the activities are provided and presented by the staff in the Biology department, we just need folks to help students stay engaged!
We're looking for volunteers to work with the 9th graders at Hughes during this event. Responsibilities include:
- Helping a small group of 9th graders navigate campus (specifically Rieveschl Hall and Zimmer Auditorium)
- Making sure 9th graders rotate through designated labs on time
- Jumping in to make sure students stay engaged throughout the day
- Making sure all students stay safe and accounted for
- Eating pizza!
This event happens on campus but counts for off-campus hours!
