Work with students and families for whom English is their Second Language. The highest number of English Learner students in our school speak: Uzbek, Russian, Tajik, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Telugu, Tamil, and other Central and South Asian languages.
Common activities:
Tutor and support English Learner(EL) students.
Interpret and translate for parents of EL students.
Support students in learning important U.S. Social Norms.
Serve as a role model for one, several, and/or many students from various Eastern and Southern Asian countries.
Assist students and families new to the school and school district with items such as completing important paperwork, gaining support outside and from within the school and school district, and many others.
Assist Mrs. Jenny Wilson with parent meetings. (Translating and interpreting at the meetings.)
