Marjorie Book has been producing full length theatrical productions since 1993 with inclusive casts represented by a variety of abilities and disabilities and represented by various age groups from ages 12 – 86.
Following up on our 2023 evening of one-acts by various authors, we will now be producing one-act plays written by the late Cincinnati playwright, Renee Alper. Renee wrote a mixture of comedies, drama and children’s plays. Some of her plays have disability themes. We are looking for volunteers to help out at rehearsals.
We also can use volunteers to help with clerical tasks and to help actors run lines on any particular night of rehearsals. We would welcome volunteers for one night or for many evenings. At certain points, we can use volunteer help in moving supplies from our storage space in Over the Rhine to locations in Clifton. We do not hold auditions, although we do engage in some staged readings during the first rehearsal and then cast parts. Please let us know if you are interested in being involved. All are welcome, and it is not necessary to be an accomplished reader (or even a reader) to participate in the play.
To help you, and our participants to get the most of the experience, volunteers are asked to read our volunteer handout prior to attending an event.
We are always looking for actors, with and without prior experience, to join the cast. Most actors are able to make 80 percent of the rehearsals, but almost all of the actors miss some rehearsals. If you are interested in acting, please come to the first rehearsal, or contact us at: 513-328-6300.
