Join us in planting native trees and berry bushes in the gardens at our non-profit to improve food access in Westwood's food desert. Putting plants in the ground before winter allows them to settle in and be ready to produce fruit in the spring. The fruit they produce next season will provide youth in our educational programs with access to nutrient dense food native to our local ecosystem.
Our activities will include a bit of digging in the dirt, so wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty and bring a bottle of water. Lunch will be provided. Keep an eye out for an email 24-48 hours before the event with information regarding parking and weather.
