Pantry to Plate is a program designed by the UC dietetic and nutrition sciences program whose goal is to increase healthy food acceptance at St. Vincent de Paul's choice food pantry and increase willingness to try new foods. To do this, a recipe that contains common items found in the food pantry is prepared and samples are handed out to interested food pantry clients. If food pantry clients enjoy the sample, they may be sent home with a bag filled with the ingredients and recipe to make at home. The best part is this bag does not count against his or her regular food pantry allowances, so it is a gift!
Pantry to Plate needs volunteers from 2pm-3pm on the specified Friday to help pack these grocery bags at St. Vincent de Paul.
What to bring: Smiles and enthusiasm!
Where to go: 1125 Bank St, Cincinnati, OH 45214, parking is across the street in a gravel parking lot! You can also park on the side of the street.
If interested, volunteers may also help hand out the samples and bags on that Saturday from 9-11. If you have more questions or need a ride, contact Miranda Dickerson at dickermr@mail.uc.edu
