About our Organization

APNET is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that brings our community together to enhance the African diaspora experience through networking, business, professional development, and community engagement. Open to all.

How our organization engages UC students

APNET’s mission is to provide a forum for members to network, foster business partnerships, and give back to the community.

APNET PILLARS: Networking, Business, and Community Engagement (N.B.C.)

Networking: Connect Students with Dynamic Professionals! Provide unique opportunities for members to develop professional & business relationships and expand social networks.

Business: Developing Talent and Promoting Entrepreneurship! Designed to provide members with tools for personal/professional development and career advancement.

Community-It’s all about Giving Back! Offer members opportunities to give back to the community.

APNET COMMUNITY PROGRAMS -Mentorship Program: This program targets high school students, college students, and professionals. APNET also partners with some of the local schools on mentoring initiatives.

- APNET Symposium: Provides awards and scholarships to students based on their academic performance and service work

-Career Development Program: APNET provides career coaching and connects members to career opportunities. In addition, APNET develops leadership skills through the assignment of special duties, training, and development. Our members lead all our events and programs.

-Service to the Elderly: APNET Members prepare and serve authentic cuisine from different African Countries for the elderly in Cincinnati usually in the Fall and Spring. We have collaborated with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) to host, serve, and entertain our elders in the community.

-Educational Programs: APNET collaborates with different organizations and universities to provide educational resources/support and book scholarships. We also engage and promote community dialogue.

-Refugee Initiatives/Immigrant Services: APNET partners with different groups and organizations to raise awareness of the challenges that exist within the refugee immigrant community and resources available for support. We collaborate with our partner organizations to provide language interpretation and translation services, connect people to community resources/ information, and provide mentoring/coaching to the African refugee and immigrant community.
