About our Organization

Spencer Center for Gifted and Exception Children is a Cincinnati Public School located in Walnut Hills, just 1.8 miles from the UC Campus. Spencer Center opened in 2017 and graduated our first class in 2022! We are named after Marian Spencer, a prominent civil rights activist and notably the first African American woman elected to the City Council. Spencer Center provides students with innovative learning programs aimed at developing the capacity to actualize their vision for their future. Students will graduate Spencer with the capability and confidence to pursue their passions, with the skills and empathy to lead and collaborate, and with a love for and drive to do great things. Our dedicated staff meets students where they are and personalize their learning environment to challenge and promote individual growth.

How our organization engages UC students

Spencer Center is a magnet eastside elementary school, and a citywide high school of choice.  We service gifted and exceptional students. We offer personalized education with an emphasis on project-based learning. We strive to promote our children's strengths while also focusing on areas of improvement.
