Tri-State Trails

About our Organization

Tri-State Trails is a nonprofit organization working to create a connected network of safe, welcoming, and accessible walking and biking trails throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We collaborate with local governments, community organizations, businesses, and residents to advance trail planning, advocacy, education, and stewardship. Through community events like the Tour de CROWN, trail counts and research, volunteer programs, and public engagement, we help build healthier communities, expand transportation options, and connect people to parks, neighborhoods, and one another. Our work is guided by the belief that trails strengthen communities by making it easier for people of all ages and abilities to walk, bike, and explore the region.

How our organization engages UC students

Tri-State Trails has a long history of engaging University of Cincinnati students through internships, co-op positions, volunteer opportunities, and community projects. We regularly work with students in Urban Planning, Design, Communications, Engineering, Public Health, and other disciplines, providing opportunities to contribute to real-world projects that improve walking, biking, and trail connectivity throughout Greater Cincinnati. Students help with event planning, communications, community outreach, trail monitoring, research, and advocacy while gaining hands-on experience alongside our staff and regional partners. We value the energy, creativity, and expertise UC students bring to our work and strive to provide meaningful experiences that connect classroom learning with community impact.
