Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati

Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati is a social justice fundraising and capacity-building organization that supports a diverse network of nonprofit partners working to advance equity, economic justice, environmental sustainability, and human rights across the Greater Cincinnati region. We strengthen grassroots and established organizations by providing shared fundraising platforms, workplace giving programs, fiscal sponsorship for groups without 501(c)(3) status, grantmaking services, and organizational support. In addition to resource development, we convene and connect nonprofit partners through trainings, peer learning opportunities, and collaborative initiatives designed to build long-term organizational capacity. Our work centers on community-led solutions and collective impact, helping organizations and the people they serve thrive.

Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati engages University of Cincinnati students through meaningful, hands-on opportunities that connect academic learning with community impact. We collaborate with UC students through internships, service-learning placements, and project-based experiences that support nonprofit capacity building, fundraising, communications, and community engagement. Students gain exposure to a wide network of social justice–focused organizations and participate in real-world work such as event support, outreach and marketing, research, and program development. We also engage students through volunteer opportunities at community events, donor drives, and member convenings, allowing them to build professional skills while contributing to equitable, community-led change in Greater Cincinnati. Our partnership approach emphasizes mentorship, skill development, and civic engagement, helping students understand nonprofit systems, social justice issues, and the power of collective action.
