About our Organization

The Rowan County Arts Center celebrates the rich traditions of our past while embracing the creativity of the present. We foster a vibrant space where modern and traditional arts connect, offering diverse programs, classes, and experiences that inspire learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Through community partnerships and inclusive opportunities, we strive to honor our heritage, support our artists, and cultivate a lasting creative legacy for generations to come.

How our organization engages UC students

Hands-On Volunteer Roles: Students help with vendor support, visitor assistance, and logistical tasks during festivals and events. Professional Development: Volunteers gain experience in event management, arts administration, and nonprofit operations, offering practical skills that complement their coursework. Community Engagement: Students connect directly with artists, musicians, and local businesses, building relationships and learning how arts and culture strengthen regional communities. Inclusive Opportunities: We welcome students from diverse disciplines — whether interested in the arts, business, communications, or service — and match them with meaningful roles that suit their strengths. By volunteering with RCAC, UC students not only support local arts and culture but also gain valuable experience, mentorship, and insight into the impact of nonprofit work.
