About our Organization

A partnership of Diasporic Soul and Jamaa Health, The Peace of Mind Project offers mind-body-spirit interventions that integrate culture and contemplative practices to create a safe communal space for Black Men seeking peace of mind in this lifetime. The Peace of Mind Project holds space for Black Men to engage one another without pretense, performance, or posturing so they are able to deepen their capacity for healing, restoration, resilience, communion with one another, liberation and well-being. Jamaa Health is fighting health inequities through access and education. We are building the largest database of black healthcare professionals globally, where patients can locate black physicians and healthcare providers by location, specialty, and insurance. We aim to eliminate healthcare disparities by connecting patients with physicians and other healthcare providers of color who will provide unbiased and qualified care. We also provide education and resources to patients and providers to actively fights bias and inequities while centering the patient in their healthcare journey. Diasporic Soul offers heritage and healing experiences for Black people, including mind-body-spirit interventions that intentionally integrate SOUL (culture) and contemplative practices. Diasporic Soul was founded by Phyllis Jeffers-Coly and her husband, Idrissa Eddy Coly in 2016. Phyllis (CYT-600) is a long-time educator and author of We Got Soul; We Can Heal: Overcoming Racial Trauma Through Leadership, Community and Resilience.
