About our Organization

Ballet and Books is a national, non-profit organization striving to reduce the literacy gap through the hybrid storytelling of dance and reading. Currently, we have 13 chapters across the country that connect college students to local children through weekly programming. We provide a 45 minute dance class in a variety of dance genres and a 45 minute literacy mentoring session free of charge for 8 weeks culminating in an end-of-year performance. Find us on IG @balletbooks @balletbookscincy_nky

How our organization engages UC students

Ballet and Books has successfully launched a local chapter this spring in collaboration with students from UC and NKU, and Jeri Gatch (a professor of dance at both schools). We are looking for student volunteers to serve as Mentors for an hour and a half each week during the eight weeks of spring programming.
