About our Organization
GlobeMed is a student-led international nonprofit dedicated to developing a group of student community activists in collaboration on improving the health of people all over the world. We envision a society where everyone has access to quality healthcare and the opportunity to not only survive, but thrive.
How our organization engages UC students
The mission of GlobeMed is to also connect the assets of a student-led network to grassroots health organizations working in communities around the world and to inspire and train university students to mobilize resources for global health and to become socially-conscious leaders for change.
GlobeMed at UC has been partnered with with Social Action for Children and Women (SAW) since 2011. The SAW foundation is an NGO in Mae Sot, Thailand that offers education, protection, and advocacy to migrants and refugees primarily from Myanmar. Each year GlobeMed at UC aspires educate one another on our partner and global health issues as well as to raise $10,000 for SAW though various student lead fundraisers and volunteering events such as Kings Island shifts, and our annual Benefit Dinner.
