About our Organization

One of 14 affiliates across the United States and Latin America, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Cincinnati helps academically motivated middle and high school students rise above disadvantaged backgrounds and become successful in college and beyond.

Our goal is to graduate young people who are physically, emotionally and academically prepared for post-secondary education and a productive life, breaking the cycle of poverty.

BHGH of Cincinnati utilizes the following elements to achieve our mission: Academic excellence, Service and community engagement, Family-like settings to cultivate youth empowerment, Long-term and comprehensive programming, Faith-based values, voluntary participant commitment.

Boys Hope Girls Hope firmly believes that children have the power to overcome adversity, realize their potential, and help transform our world. Children create these successes when we remove obstacles, support and believe in them, and provide environments and opportunities that build on their strengths.

How our organization engages UC students

We would bring UC students alongside our mission to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others. We select motivated children in need (grades 7-12) to join our program - We have an Academy Program for Girls and Boys (after-school learning) and a residential program for Boys (living in our residential home Mon - Fri, attending college prep schools and returning to their families and guardians on the weekend.).

Long term volunteer opportunities - would mean a commitment to volunteer weekly as tutors for our Academy or Residential scholars in grades 7-12 as well as providing
assistance to Residential and Academy Success Coordinators in all aspects of the
program, including meal preparation, transportation
support, and preparing for enrichment activities.

Short term volunteer opportunities include helping with fundraising initiatives by setting up events, work the event, clean up after the event. Helping in the office to help coordinate our online auction, update wish lists on Amazon, Walmart and Target websites, help with printing and prepping documents for meetings and events, post-event paperwork.
