Volunteer: Map For Life Club Member / Leader

We're seeking motivated, faith and mental health-minded UC students who want to help others - and have fun doing it!


This new Map for Life club at UC is based on our proven Map program, which helps individuals, couples and families physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually, including life purpose. Now we want to offer it to more students and others you may know. We want to help prevent life problems BEFORE they start or keep them from getting worse.  

The Coordinator role is part of a student leadership team or board, who report to the executive director in Dayton, Ohio. The first step in kicking off a new group is to build a leadership team and a number of other participants. You'll work as a team to recruit and kick off the club and then help promote and maintain it over time. We have a head start, but we can use your help! You'll have direct support from the executive director and others.

Volunteer: Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY : Seeking a virtual volunteer(s) to assist the Executive Director and/or leadership team members, in brainstorming and creating designs for social media, workshops, special events, printed materials, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to speak, read, and write English well, including spelling and grammar. Knowledge of creating graphics efficiently in PowerPoint, Canva, Photoshop and/ or other similar tools is needed. Skills and talents, such as basic design/colors/font expertise, creativity, collaboration, teamwork, managing multiple mini-projects at a time, organization, reliability/dependability and flexibility are needed. Knowledge of Google Drive and video conference tools are a plus, but will train.

 

DUTIES:

- Work on various graphic concepts and types at a time, considering our social media calendar, upcoming events, printed material updates, etc.
- Create variations as necessary for different applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Eventbrite, and more
- Collaborate on concepts and create designs for review and approval
- Could include more creativity and thought leadership and some social media posting and other work, if desired

Volunteer: Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking local, greater Dayton area applicants AND virtual applicants, outside the area. The position is virtual either way (no reporting location). Considering students in HR and other diversity-related fields.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Motivated and passionate about connecting resources and improving lives and families
- Networking experience preferred
- Experience in simple research
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent spoken communication skills are required for certain candidates who could make professional networking contacts and appointments
- Knowledge of the Christian faith is preferred
- Knowledge or experience with HR, diversity, equity and inclusion, including training, is preferred
- Knowledge or experience with addiction, mental health issues, youth and family challenges are a plus
- If local to Dayton and the greater Miami Valley region, knowledge of the area and relevant organizations is a plus. We would consider an advocate/ambassador by county or groups of area counties - Montgomery, Greene, Miami, Butler, Warren, Hamilton, Clark, etc.

DUTIES:
- Develop and implement new programs and practices that will increase diversity among our clients and volunteers
- Provide support and/or education to the leadership team and/or all key volunteers
- Some simple database entry and maintenance (will train, if necessary)
- Phone contact, networking, potential appointment-setting or sharing of other strategic messages
- Interface with other team members potentially, in marketing, HR, development, coaching, etc.
- Will customize the position somewhat, based on the individual candidate, location, interests, skills and experience
